Bad Loss. Do I Have Anything To Smile About?

♥ Mitre! ♥ Mitre! ♥ Mitre! ♥

So pretty much everybody knows about the miserable Yankee game yesterday. We lost 7-1 and the game was boring and disgusting. But even though the outcome of the game was not pleasing, I still have a reason to smile.

Pitching Analysis: Joba Chamberlain obviously has problems. He went just 3 innings and threw 70 pitches while allowing 7 runs. 7 runs? That is disgusting. I am beginning to worry about my Yankees. How do they expect to win in the postseason without pitching? Okay. We have C “Cy,” but realistically, can he be this hot for the rest of the year? I hope so. There is A.J., who may finally be turning things around, but his inconsistency worries me. Then there is Andy, who has been so reliable, but his shoulder is not right. His start tonight is an important one so we can see if he is healthy. And then there is Joba. What are we gonna do with Joba….I think the Yankees destroyed him…can he do it as a starter?…Do I want to see Joba in the postseason?…AAHHH!! I don’t know!!! Help?!?!

Chamberlain gives up seven earned runs in three innings of work.

STOP STINKING, JOBA!!! SHEESH!

Can Sergio Mitre be the help we need? In relief of Joba yesterday, Mitre went 5 innings and allowed just 1 hit. Pretty impressive. He was the only reason why I smiled yesterday. Now, you all know how I feel about Sergio…(♥x1000000)…he can do no wrong to me….BUT (and there is always a but) he did pitch well yesterday, so give him a chance! There is still time left in the season for him to prove himself worthy of the postseason roster. And besides, would you rather have Joba? I wouldn’t. I believe in Mitre. He has shown sparks of pure dominance. I honestly think he has the potential to really help this team, and I’m not just saying that because he is hot. I just hope the Yankees give him a chance. And if both Mitre and Joba are going to pitch badly, I would definitely rather see Mitre, just because I like to take advantage of any chance I can to stare open-mouthed at that sexy thing. Anyway, what I am trying to say is give Mitre a chance. He had major surgery; the poor baby didn’t even fully recover. He CAN be good. I know it :)

I love you ;)

Offensive Analysis: I’m skipping the defensive one because I don’t remember anything. The offense was dead yesterday. I hate when that happens. I am worried that in the postseason, the whole lineup will just die. I must try to avoid such nightmarish thoughts. I was a little annoyed that Cervelli was not playing. I know Jorge was back, but Cervelli played such a good game the other day. Did he not prove himself worthy of starting another game this season? Everyone knows that Jorge+Joba=trouble, no matter what the players say. I don’t know…I’m just…I’m just worried about Cervelli’s future…you all know I love him just as much, if not more than Mitre….I am afraid the Yankees will do something stupid like….-gulp-….t..ttr…ttrrraaaddee….trade…Cervelli…I don’t know why I am even thinking about that. Trading Cervelli is a retarded thing to do. They would not do that. Cervelli is a major league-ready catcher who handles the Yankee pitching staff like a pro, and he looks adorable doing it.

Yankees tangle in positive way thanks to Francisco Cervelli.

Remember his walkoff? So cute. He is such an exciting player.

It was not a good game yesterday for my Yanks. But at least Mitre was good. Actually, he was beyond good. Sergio was stellar. Our lead over the Smelly Sox who cheat at Fenway is now just 5 games…we need to pick up the pace. This week is a huge week for the Yankees. They play the Angels in Anaheim and the Red Sox at home. For the sake of my well-being, the Yanks need to win both these series. Come on, boys! We are so close. #27 is within reach. GO YANKEES!!!!

it’s always amusing that when the offense goes dead so does the starting pitching, so which feeds off the which, or do they just blame bad pitching on the lack of offense…either way losing sucks for the losing team…but the magic numbers keep going down and October is almost here so room to smile, yes even for Yankee fans…:-)

Hey Virginia, good blog! It stinks the way our Yanks have been playing. Not a good thing to be limping into the playoffs like this :(

I’m hoping we come out of this funk, Joba was abimsal yesterday and we lost game one to LA.

good game tonight – i hope we meet in the ALCS – but that means we have to find a way to get past the Sox.. BTW, who would you rather play in the 1st, Detroit or Minnesota? I would think Minnesota but who knows..

Well, we didn’t win last night but we WILL win tonight! And don’t worry about the Yankees trading Cervelli. He’ll replace Molina next season as the backup catcher and you’ll be able to see him all the time!

Nice post. I don’t think whoever is in the playoffs from the central will make it far. The Yanks have nothing to worry about yet. http://clevelandbaseball.mlblogs.com/
