The Bombers Are Back!!!
And They Brought The “Big Fly” With Them
Now that was more like it! Those were the Yankees I wanted to see. They smashed 5 homers off Beckett. And now CC leads the league in wins with 15. And the Yankees won the series in Fenway. My Grandma and I watched the game together. Ahhh. We can breathe again. She is a big fan, and she gets angry when they play badly, so we were both happy yesterday. The Yankees beat the smelly sox last night 8-4.
Pitching Analysis: CC Sabathia, our expensive ace, pitched for us last night. Once again, he earned his money and did a great job. CC went 6 & 2/3 innings and allowed 4 runs, 3 of which were earned, on 8 hits, 0 walks, and 8 strikeouts. I love CC.
Hear that, CC? I love you :)
In the 2nd with 2 outs, the Red Sox started hitting. They were obviously cheating like they always do in Fenway. Lowell doubled, Baldelli singled, and Varitek doubled. Now it was 2-2.
CC gave up an unearned run in the 4th due to Cano’s stupidity. In the 6th, Pukilis led off with a double, and he wound up scoring on a sac fly by Baldelli. They really didn’t hit CC too hard.
Phil Hughes pitched a scorless inning and a third, and Mo pitched a scorless 9th. The Yanks were great on the mound yesterday.
Defensive Analysis: It was a bit sloppy. I don’t know what happened to Cano yesterday. He was awful in the field. In the 1st inning, he stumbled over an easy grounder by Ellsbury, allowing him to reach 1st. But that was quickly erased after he was picked off. Then in the 4th, a pop up was hit to shallow right. Cano got under it, but it was a bit behind him, and he completely missed it! That scored a run! In the 6th, a ball was hit to shallow left that Jeter and Damon couldn’t get. Damon dived and missed. That led to a run later in the inning. In the 8th, Swish made a nice sliding catch on a liner by Lowell.
Offensive Analysis: The Bombers had their big bats swingin’ last night. 5 homers off Beckett. Quite an accomplishment. On the first pitch of the game, Jeter hit a homer to right. 1 pitch, 1-0 Yankees. In the 2nd on the first pitch, Hideki Matsui hit a homer. 2-0. Haha Beckett. You suck. In the 3rd, Jeter got a single with 1 out. Johnny had a long at-bat, and got himself a single. Tex knocked in Jeter and found himself on 2nd base. Arod got an RBI groundout. 4-2!
In the 4th, Robinson Cano hit a solo home run. That made up for his errors. 5-2 Yanks. In the 5th as I talked to my aunt on the phone, I heard my family cheer from the living room. It was Arod. He hit a 2-run homer with 2 out and 2 strikes. But what was even more amazing was that my Mom actually cheered for him. She actually gave him the credit he deserved for once. I couldn’t believe it. Thanks to Arod, the Yanks had a 7-3 lead. Good job sexy. (Mitre is still hotter!)
In the 8th, Matsui came up. He hit a solo shot around the foul poll in right. I love how the ESPN announcers gave Hideki no credit. They said he didn’t have a good swing at the ball and that he didn’t square it up. Does it matter? He hit a home run! Jeez! Everyone on that channel needs their head examined. They are all retards.
It was a fun game to watch. I was proud of my Yankees for hitting Beckett hard. The heroes are CC Sabathia, for his solid start, and the Bronx Bombers, especially Matsui for going deep twice. The Yankees now have a 7.5 game lead over the smelly Sox. Who would’ve predicted this earlier in the year? Not many. God, do I love my Yankees! I LOVE YOU, BOYS!!!
